Komfort

Komfort Møbelfabrik is a Danish furniture maker celebrated for its contribution to the mid-century modern Scandinavian design movement. The factory was based in Vorup, a suburb of Randers in Denmark. Komfort was prolific throughout the 1950s and 1960s, producing a wide range of designs with a focus on lounge furniture.

The Komfort aesthetic is embodied by the Danish modern style. The designs are generally timber-based and characterised by organic functionalism. Komfort collaborated with some of the leading Danish architect furniture designers. Notable designers include Arne Wahl Iversen, Illum Wikkelso, Arne Hovmand-Olsen and Sven Ellekaer.

Today, designs from Komfort Mobelfabric are sought after by collectors and enthusiasts around the world. The designs perfectly capture the essence of Scandinavian craftsmanship and simplicity.
