Finn Juhl Turning Tray for Architectmade – Small
A perfectly formed Danish tray.
Finn Juhl is one of Denmark’s most famous architects, known for his bold, sculptural forms and ultra-refined detailing. Unlike his fellow classmates, Juhl entered the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Architecture in Copenhagen in 1930 without any experience as a craftsman. What he lacked in structural experience, he made up for in vision, crafting his designs from an artist’s mindset. Juhl’s forms perfectly balance sculptural and elegant expression with functionality.
The Turning Tray was designed in 1956 by Juhl, bearing his trademark curved teak frame, precise corner joints and playful use of colour. Made without handle bars, the tray’s curvature allows space for all sizes of hands, from child to adult, to pick it up. Designed as dual-sided, the Turning Tray boasts two glossy laminate sides held together by carefully crafted corner joints.
