Description

Harry Bertoia was an artist as well as a designer. These elegant steel-mesh chairs explore relationship between form and space. Bertoia designed this chair for Knoll Furniture in 1955. It was during this period that he created designs that were truly a reflection of his experimentation is a designer.

These particular chairs were produced under license here in New Zealand. They were selected by architect Vlad Cacala to be used in the show-home for an architectural block of flats he designed in the early 1960's on the North Shore. Cacala gifted them to the previous owner when the unit sold.
