Description
French-born Stephane Rondel created some of New Zealand's most coveted furniture and design objects during the late 20th Century. His talent for design led to furniture commissions for the Elysée Palace in Paris and large scale, award-winning design projects in New Zealand. Rondel's work is also held in the permanent collection of some of New Zealand's most prestigious museums.
The Conran Shop in London stocked Rondel's work and his furniture has featured in several music videos, album covers and movies around the world. These curvaceous 'Peanut' bar stools perfectly capture Rondel's elegant and poetic aesthetic. They were produced in small batches with hand woven cane seats. A rare and very coveted example of New Zealand produced design.
