These pieces epitomise the pioneering early work of Aalto and feature all the trademark details that make his designs so coveted. Aalto introduced the bent L-leg in 1933 and it became a standard component across all of his furniture. It is considered Aalto's greatest achievement and is truly significant because it solved the problem of attaching chairs’ and tables’ legs directly to the table tops in a way never seen before.
This is a rare set, especially the Model 296 filing cabinet which is long out of production. The craftsmanship and construction is stunning in it's execution and adds depth to this perfectly restrained and elegant offering.
