Outstanding Paul Tuttle Pentagon Shaped Cocktail Table for Baker
A unique and highly stylised geometric grain pattern defines one of the most beautiful mid-century pieces we've seen.
Baker Furniture produced some of the most premium and progressive American modern furniture of the 20th century. The company was early to embrace the modern movement, during the 1920’s and 30’s they worked with prominent architects and designers to produce some of the most desirable high-end furniture available.
In the late 1940’s and 50’s, Baker Furniture collaborated with Paul Tuttle and other avant-garde designers to produce design collections referencing influences ranging from the Far East to Italian Neoclassism. A high point for the company was a collaboration with Danish Designer Finn Juhl which introduced and paved the way for the popularity of Danish modernism in the United States.
This impressive cocktail table was designed by the celebrated American Designers Paul Tuttle and Winsor White. It is an extremely limited-edition production piece, crafted from the finest materials for the most affluent buyers in the American market. This caliber of design is rarely available for sale and will likely not be seen again.
You may have noticed this stunning design showcased in the London home of celebrated contemporary designer Marc Newson and stylist wife, Charlotte Stockdale. It also features in a short film on the influential website 'Nowness'. See film here.
