Gary Hunt was one of the go to furniture designers in the art and design scene during the 1990s. Hunt collaborated with high end local fashion houses to create bespoke designs executed in his material of choice – steel. This rare display cabinet was created for iconic New Zealand fashion label Zambesi.
Zambesi co-founder Neville Findlay collaborated with Gary Hunt to produce a design that would align with the Zambesi aesthetic of the 1990s. A tapered outside leg supports two steel shelves and one glass shelf. A subtle decorative element at the at the top offers texture and a change of scale to elevate the glass panel. A timeless and high quality piece of shelving like this will suit a contemporary home or commercial space.
Each piece is checked and carefully hand restored at our Kingsland studio workshop. Our focus is preserving the character and patina of the design while ensuring it displays beautifully in a contemporary interior.
