The company sold its work through leading high end boutiques and department stores like Kirkalde & Stains in Wellington and Smith & Caughey in Auckland. These chairs are very likely a Backhouse design.
This stunning set of occasional chairs feature elegant proportions and a lightness of form that defines this crisp and angular design. Every line and curve has been considered and the result is stunning. This is local mid century design at its finest.
