A rare and beautifully crafted solid mahogany dining table, made in New Zealand during the 1950s. The richly grained top with softly rounded corners is supported by an elegant slatted subframe connecting to four gracefully splayed legs, giving the piece a sculptural, organic quality that reflects the Scandinavian modernist influence sweeping New Zealand interiors at the time.
Local cabinetmaking of this calibre and period is genuinely uncommon, making this a compelling find for collectors of New Zealand modernist design. This piece is in excellent original condition throughout.
