Designed by Esko Pajamies for Asko, this striking pair of Bonanza armchairs captures the bold architectural character of Finnish heavy modernism. Solid timber frames, wide angular arms and generous black leather cushions create a compelling balance of sculptural form and deep comfort.
A graduate of the Helsinki Academy of Applied Arts and a professional jazz trumpeter, Pajamies helped lead Asko toward the more relaxed lifestyle aesthetic of the late 1960s and 70s. Today, Bonanza pieces are prized for their strong presence, superb craftsmanship and enduring collector appeal.
