Pair of Sophisticated Tony Parker 'Model 161' Armchairs by Parker
A rare and collectable pair of 'Model 161' lounge chairs by Tony Parker, one of Australia's most celebrated mid-century furniture designers. The luminous solid teak frames are beautifully crafted, with graphic angular lines softened by organic curves that make them as captivating from the back as from the front.
High backs and generously proportioned loose cushions upholstered in a fresh neutral fabric ensure they are as comfortable as they are elegant. Parker Furniture produced some of the finest locally made mid-century pieces of the 1960s, and this pair is a rare and sophisticated find.
Each piece is checked and carefully hand restored at our Kingsland studio workshop. Our focus is preserving the character and patina of the design while ensuring it displays beautifully in a contemporary interior...
