John Crichton Caramel Mosaic Dish
If you are not already in the unofficial 'John Crichton' fan club, you're missing out.
Swirling around a delicious, coffee-brown central piece, this decadent arrangement of caramel and chocolate coloured tiles looks good enough to eat.
Intricacy and precision are evident in the construction of this beautiful mosaic bowl, by John Crichton. The materiality of this piece references the Pan Pacific Modernist Movement of which Crichton was a pioneer.
Materials: Beautifully crafted from copper and ceramic glazed tiles
Tiles: Perfect condition; no chips or cracks
Grout: Some minor gaps, left by initial making process or caused by wear over time; largest gap being 5mm long.
Copper: Beautiful sheen with no aging patina. Some surface dents and scratches, in keeping with age
Maker's Label: The surface of the maker's label has worn off, leaving a papery residue on the base of the dish
