Eiffel Base Eames Dining Chairs for Herman Miller

Charles and Ray Eames were on to a winner with these sleek, multi-purpose chairs.

1950 | 2000s edition

With a grand sense of adventure, the Eames' turned their curiosity and boundless enthusiasm into creations that established them as a truly great husband-and-wife design team. The DSR chair, often given the nickname 'Eiffel Chair' due to it's distinctive chrome base, was designed in 1950.

The initials stand for Dining (height) Side (chair) Rod (base) and it was one of the first mass-produced fiberglass chairs. The Eiffel chair has since become a coveted icon of modern design and cherished for its groundbreaking form and balance of comfort and style.

This chair is a recent licensed editions (2000's) and the seat base is a recyclable polypropylene rather than traditional fiberglass which was not as environmentally friendly.
